The total lane kilometers were only specified for Provincial designated roads. On those roads it is usually 3:1. From research a good average is 2.5:1 that is used in most equations.

Most cities try to hide these numbers on their websites. This is what I found:

Percentage of Operating Budget to Public Works:
Saint John 8% 2011
Bathurst 22% 2009
Moncton 18% 2011
Fredericton 11% 2011

Which is worse than most but we spend a higher percentage than those cities on Policing, Fire Protection, and Public Transit.

Very interesting facts, Charles – it makes people re-think their position. It would also be interesting to see where Saint John stands when comparing lane km's per resident (width is an equally important consideration as overall length), tax base per km, maintenance budget per km, and maintenance as a percentage of the tax base. We'd really know where Saint John stands on roads then!

Yeah, most memorable (Acadian Lines) bus trip: Aside from the many times where the bus to/from PEI was pretty much empty, there's one from Victoria Day 2010 that comes to mind. We were just over Kierstead Mountain (leaving Sussex towards Fredericton) when the bus started making beeping noises. Turns out that the bus overheated and they got a replacement bus driven up from Moncton to Fredericton. Needless to say, we were about a half-hour late showing up and apparently those travelling beyond Freddy had to wait an additional hour for the replacement to show up…

Hey Charles,

I totally agree that you would make lovely scathing comments on the many many movies you see! You are a movie junkie dude, might as well put that time into some critisms that we can all enjoy!! I will check out yoru reviews before watching the movie and maybe even counter some with my own opions after watching the said show. Cant wait, please update some soon!!!!

It can be done either way, the simplest is most mobiles support CSS3 and at the bottom of your main CSS you can add conditionals based on screen resolution.

Since getting my iPhone 20 months ago, I have definitely become a more avid texter than I once was. Just this past month, I logged a total of 4721 sent/received messages. Now, Apple has done a great job designing and programing their hardware and software, which I strongly feel has something to do with my total. Guess I'm moving up in the world )

Everything new of course has a premium price, regardless of whether it's a premium product or not.

Ever consider 3D? I personally can't stand the thought of a 3D TV, but since you're looking into getting a new TV, I'm sure that you had to answer that question for yourself. The lack of mention means that you probably dismissed it, as did I.

Good luck with your search! I bought a Dynex 40" LCD from Future Shop almost a year ago… first one kept shutting off by itself, so I took it back and got it replaced with the same model. Seems to be working so far. I wish that I had the money to invest in a better brand, but at the time I had to make a decision fast, as my old TV suddenly died.
