First off, a detailed post about my trip to Toronto is coming soon. Including the stuff I learned and would like to add about WordCamp Toronto. In addition I am sorting through the 400 pictures I took over the weekend for a SnapShots album. I wanted to talk about movies. I have seen several lately although I am way behind this time last year. I have seen a lot of romantic movies and romantic comedies lately. However it seems that the romantic movie industry seems to be making traditional tragedies lately. They are not the happily ever after anymore. Even the Miley Cyrus hit “Last Song” falls into this category, a funeral, seriously. The little weak happy tag ending does not make it better it starts bad in Act One, gets better in act two, then ends badly. That sir is definitely a tragedy in the dramatically sense. But this … Continue reading →

Yes once again the post with a really long esoteric name is a movie reviw post for the following 3 movies I have seen (at least once) over the past week. Lets start with the biggest New Moon the continuation of the Twilight Saga. I never left a theatre before so wanting to read a book then with this most epic cliff hanger of an ending. The first movie introduces the love story, where the second explains the relationship between the native’s haterid towards the vampires and introduces the senero to be portrade in the final two incarnations, and then stop abruptly that the story is not complete, and disappointment that you must wait for the next one. The next movie is “I hope they serve beer in hell” for such a long title this is one of the best comedies fo the year, based off a true story, up … Continue reading →

At long last I have finally arrived in Victoria. Five hours on a plane is really long much longer that I had really imagined. During the longest lag of the journey I got to see “My Sister’s Keeper” for the first time. I found it to be really an enjoyable movie, in the respect that you did not know who to feel sad for. Then it throws a huge twist that make the plot even more intriguing. Upon first impression of Victoria is that it has an appearance of a fairy tile that has come to life especially now that its the holidays and the lights of colour in and on everything.
I’m going to start today’s post with the fact that I have joined a gym. My friend Andrea finally convinced me to join Nubody’s. I bought the membership on Thursday and finally went yesterday. Despite feeling a little sore and tired today, I actually feel better. Despite the fact that I have a lot of weight that I should lose, I am actually quite hesitant to set goals/benchmarks at this point. It has been since 2002 since I last regularly worked-out in a gym. The most exercise I have done recently is walking to work from missing the bus. Which according to Google Maps is 3.4 km which should take 39 minutes. I usually take 45-50 minutes to do it, Although I have done it in a “Vindaloo” wak in 32 minutes. (While listening to “Vindaloo” on my iPod. in one song loop mode.) The next topic is to discuss … Continue reading →

This movie has aspects of almost every gents of movie it’s a comedy, drama, romance, war, western, nature, comming of age, family, real life type movie. Even more remarkable than the fantastic acting in the moving is the calm hart-pounding score that carries you seamlessly through the story. This movie is written in the three act style but all three acts have their own three acts it is truly a must see. CEFM Rating: 5/5

Breast Men R Kinda dull but based on real life events, with a porno-elements in a tasteful manner. CEFM.ca Rating: 3/5 Outsourced PG-13 This movie is a hoot and very ironic of you have ever worked for an outsourced company, or are an outsourcer. But is the story of people understanding other different cultures to help find themselves. CEFM.ca Rating: 4/5 Bolt PG Definitely worth seeing in Real 3D. This is one of the first movies in 3D that I was not pissed off. Usually 3D movie do things to show off the 3D that takes away from the storytelling. But no Bolt bolt uses it to tell a story of a dog who it lost both literally and metaphorically who struggle to find his way home (and himself). Meanwhile the cat is also learning its true nature without being boring. A good movie for the whole family.
It’s been a while since I did a movie review here, and I have seen many in the past few weeks that I want to share. Mamma Mia! Not to take away from the stage version but the movie did not quite live up to my expectations. The transitions from spoken to song was very abrupt and did not flow very well. Rating: 2.5/5 The Dark Night I really quite enjoyed this movie that a movie can keep you on the edge of your seat for over 2 hours then make you laugh, cry, and keep wondering what is going to happen. Rating: 4/5 Wanted This movie is very unique. I really love Morgan Freeman in movies. He has got to be one of the greatest voices on film. Rating: 3.5/5 Journey to the Centre of the Earth 3D This is the fist RealD movie I have seen, this movie … Continue reading →

After seeing the trailer once again since seeing the movie, I feel as if the trailer displayed more action then what was in the final cut. I can appreciate the story line as well as the action sequences in this motion picture; however, I believe the movie could have had better quality acting. Newcomer, Hayden Christensen, definitely portrayed the look for the character but his acting ability for the leading role as David Rice needed a more rigid aggression. Overall, this film is good and can hold a potential for a sequel, which we can only hope will have more fundamentals touched upon. Furthermore, we all can value the story; however, lets hope the sequel does not disappoint. Tony Tompkins Critic

Studio: Cohen / Pearl Productions / Lakeshore Entertainment Released: January 2008 CEFM Rating: 3.5/5 I was unsure as to how this feature would work for my taste; however, I found this film to have an unbelieveable storyline. Also, I was shakened by the disturbing context of the murders. Despite the great story and un-nerving content, I was disapponted that they reveiled the Untraceable killer early on in the feature, which to me pulled the hidden mystery behind the title. Furthermore, this film will make your stomach turn in many directions as it finishes.

So, the world is not ending. And to those people that didn’t get that it was a joke I am truly saddened… not really. So I’m writing this from the theater waiting for the movie to start. I just seen Mr. Magoriam (CEFM Rating: 2/5) I rate it as okay but not great. It seamed not to flow and left you waiting for the story to progress. That is it for now.

It is very peculiar how many opportunities pose themselves all at once and yet you need to make a decision is this the right road, do you go aimlessly strait or do you sit and wait on the trail for a better option to come around then doing nothing. If you wait that opportunity might come or you might be on a deserted foggy road just waiting to be rained on. Like the old saying “When it rains, it pours.” Is it time to take the diversion from the path and when you do it is always a massive suffocating web, a web so sometimes scary that it is often overwhelming not only in size but in magnitude (I always wanted to use that word in a post). Right now I am approaching that there are 4 options to the future. All diversions could be challenging, costly, very risky and … Continue reading →

Okay, to start off with I have posted the pics that were taken during my Toronto trip on my camera phone in my gallery (http://cefm.ca/gallery2 if you are reading this via RSS or Facebook) I still have some more that were taken with my Digital Camera. Remember the Answer to The Ultimate Question Of Life, the Universe and Everything is 42. Crushed Beautifully 2 has now been storyboarded and my other video project, working title is “Remember…” has been rewitten and just needs some more casting. And than filming. I am hoping to get it submitted to a film festival by this fall. As for movies I have seen recently I have to make a three really good recomentations, in order of greatness is Oceans 13 (CEFM Rating: 4.5/5), Knocked Up (CEFM Rating: 5/5), and Pirates of the Carribean 3 (CEFM Rating: 5/5). I cannot wait until the Simpsons movie (CEFM … Continue reading →
